Today I was aware of the snow and the frigid air, but the creek I walk beside has slowed down, as I noticed I couldn't hear the rush of water and it felt still. Everything felt still. I took a moment to stand and watch the creek flow slowly and saw but of sheer ice frost on the edges. It was quite cold and the air was quite abrasive, so within my quick moment of standing still, I focused on my breath and the sting on my nose and felt my heart beating as I walked quite fast to keep myself warm. Taking this pause to just focus on the sounds of the creek got me to take a pause and check-in with myself and how I was feeling
